‘I was in prison for 2,192 days; she wrote to me almost daily’

Laure, 58, and Jerry, 62, survived his jail sentence for causing death by dangerous driving. They live in Alabama, and now run a support network for the families of prisoners.
Laure Jerry and I met in 1995 and married four months later. I tell him all the time I would marry him again, but faster. We’d both been married twice before and dating was the last thing I was looking for. But he ticked all the boxes.
I had two daughters and he had one. We moved our family from Tennessee to Alabama, to raise them in the country. We were living the dream. But on 17 March 2003, it was shattered when Jerry caused a head-on car collision which killed a young mother. He had been driving drunk.
I felt rage, betrayal. When we met, we were both recovering alcoholics, so I had only known him sober. Now a life had been lost. I didn’t want him dead, but I wanted him to hurt real bad. We lived in a small town, and I grieved for that family. I felt embarrassment. I had to get to the forgiveness part quickly so I could get through each day.
Jerry spent 10 days in the ICU. He pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to six years in prison and 19 on probation. I was scared – emotionally, practically, financially, spiritually. I wanted to stay married but didn’t know how. I didn’t know what you do when someone you love is in prison.

Jerry On our first date, I took Laure and her daughters to see Cinderella at the theatre. When I got home, I wrote “She’s the one” on the back of the programme.
We had a good life. I had a small engineering business, work grew busy, and we moved cities. But I was in a mess. I got into narcotics but hid it from my family. The night of the accident, I had stopped at a liquor store. I was in a blackout. Moments later, a young woman was dead and I was airlifted to hospital. I was shocked, remorseful, disheartened.
My wife has a big and kind heart. I tried to protect her from the police investigation and the likelihood of prison. I didn’t want our girls walking around with the stigma of a dad who had killed someone.
In Alabama, incarceration is uncontested grounds for divorce, but there was never a question of Laure leaving me. On an early prison visit, I told her I wouldn’t blame her if she wanted to leave. She looked at me and said, “I’d be more miserable than I am now.” I’ll never forget it.

Keith, 59, and Claire, 57, survived his gambling addiction. They live in Sussex.
Keith Claire and I had known each other in the 80s, and reconnected online 20 years later. Claire was living abroad, and I was on my way to broke. She’d make short trips to the UK, and we’d laugh through days out and long lunches. She was intelligent, full of life; a better person than I was.
I first entered a casino at 16. By 18, I’d borrowed, conned and stolen from everyone I knew. I was an addict. Through adulthood, I’d made and lost small fortunes and entire businesses. I’d play Monopoly for real money, or sit in a room of the club I owned, drinking brandy, snorting as much cocaine as I could.
I wasn’t a constant drug user or gambler. When Claire visited, I’d try to keep it together; but then I’d get desperate and make excuses to go to London for “work”. When she moved to the UK with her three kids in 2009, I’d disappear into a room of the home we shared for days, in a heady state of gambling, drugs and porn, too embarrassed to re-emerge. When Keith decided on residential rehab, I knew that if I didn’t support him, there was no future. I didn’t want significant time apart, but when an addict is serious about making changes, you have to put your own needs aside.
The most soul-destroying moment came when I found the affairs website. I had been betrayed by gambling and drugs, but my belief in the purity of our love had kept me going. I wrote to him saying it was over. From rehab, Keith proved to me it was only curiosity (there was no activity on his account), and I was open enough to reconciliation to visit him.
Emotionally, we’re more independent now, although we share bank accounts and he supports us financially. I’ve grown, too. I used to tell friends that Keith felt like an addiction to me. I’d waited years for a stable home life together: eventually, he walked the most difficult path in order to truly change.

Maryam, 31, and Amir, 33, survived his affair. They live in California.
Maryam When Amir had an affair, I had a thousand reasons to leave but looked for the one to stay. Our relationship had started as an affair, too. We had been couple-friends in our previous marriages and used to hang out as a group of four. Then, in February 2017, Amir and his wife broke up and he came on a trip with my husband and me. One night, we were up late, talking, while my husband slept. Amir opened up about his marriage and I began to sense he had feelings for me. I had relationship problems, too, and we started an affair. I ended my marriage.
Over the next 18 months, friends came to see us as the perfect couple. They would comment on how loving our relationship was. But I couldn’t forgive myself for how we’d started, and his divorce was a mess. He spent nights with his ex. I broke up with him several times. Things looked great on the surface but we both carried unresolved pain.
By the end of 2019, I became suspicious of his relationship with a co-worker. She was too intimate at the Christmas party and he was jumpy when she called. Then I found a credit card charge to a cafe, clearly for two people.

Amir Maryam was the first time in my life I felt real love. But we were both married and I told myself it couldn’t happen.
As time passed, my ex-wife had an affair and my marriage died. Maryam had problems, too, and I made my feelings known. I admired her looks, the way she thinks. This wasn’t a game that I’d started; it was coming from the bottom of my heart.
I was born in the Middle East, in a war zone. As a child, I experienced sexual and physical abuse at the hands of my teacher, but told no one. The human psyche finds soothing mechanisms to alleviate pain. For me, that was sex.

I made a post a few years back about anonymous-casino disabling my account after winning 51 BTC.
I know everyone will comment as to why you would trust an online casino with so much BTC?
But at the time BTC =$1,000 and I bought in with 1 BTC then turned it into 51 BTC in the run of a lifetime. I also have lost tens of thousands on their site.
Also thought I thought they were legit because I cashed out $400 in winnings in Christmas and they said I was one of the lucky few to get a double cash out turning it into $800.
Im really trying to get some solid advice if there is anything I can do, especially since it happened when BTC was $1000.

Here are a couple of my experiences from the past 8-ish months or so.

- 2 to 4 months ago I received 2 PARTIAL refunds due to bots being at my table, in which one scenario was a final table. Didn't even get a full fucking refund. This also doesn't mention the other partial refunds I received earlier in 2020.
- As you all well know, ACR has had multiple scandals going back to 2012, like the the 2018-2019 PLO/NL cash game bots and several people colluding together to take advantage of the late reg glitch. Nagy can eat a fat dick.
- If you play at America's Cardroom in 2021 you're a fucking retard. (No offence)

Betonline/BOL:
- 6 months ago Betonline removed $1000 from my poker balance on my account and said that the money was transferred to my sportsbook balance at 4am PST and all of it was spent in the online casino. When I asked them to investigate they did nothing. So I asked their Fraud/IT Department to send me a list of all devices, MAC addresses, and IP addresses that signed into my account that day... They refused to cooperate... Customer service said it was against company policy to release that type of information, even though its MY OWN fucking account and personal information. ( I took a break from the site but eventually returned because US players have no options and I love MTTs.)
- 2 months ago I deposited $50 of ETH to their sports book to bet on an NFL game. Blockchain.com confirmed that BOL's Etheruem address received my money, and I even sent customer service proof of the transaction THREE TIMES. They still refuse to issue me my $50 deposit to this day, stating "our system says the deposit is still pending".
- 2 days ago I received a $5 refund from a Windfall Sit n Go because the 2 other two players at my table were bots :) :) :) I should just kill myself at this point. WHO THE FUCK HAS BOTS AT THE JACK POT SIT N GO.

- Honestly, I haven't used them in like a year or two because they removed the chat box, make it a pain to utilize HUD software, and that fucking update they did to their software. That huge software update was so fucking horrible the sites damn near unplayable. I'm sure you guys remember the old canvas/layout that Bovada/Iggy use to utilize, it was way better.

Anyways, I just don't know what to do anymore. I NEVER had any of these issues back in the Full Tilt days. I don't even want to play half the time because I'm sick of all the bullshit. I am also in Los Angeles, CA so the lockdown bullshit makes live poker a huge pain in the ass. As we wrap up 2020, I like to look back on this year's community pennystock picks as a fun retrospective. I encourage anyone to comment and share their experiences as well! I'm a big believer that going back and looking at historical trades as a method to continue to evolve as a trader. Things like price action, conviction, research and entry/exit points are all critical in becoming a better stock trader.
This post ended up being a lot longer than I anticipated, and there are a few more stocks I wanted to include here that won't fit into my original post. So I'll probably follow up this post with a comment below with a few more pennystocks that were hype on this sub that I bought and learned from.

Here are a few of the rides I was on in 2020:

• Ticker: DECN
• When did you buy in: Apr 20
• Why did you buy in: I saw the price action on DECN and it looked like the price had found a floor at 0.18 on a pullback. There was still pending news on the release of some test results, and rumours of a COVID test kit. This was the first pennystock I purchased ever, and it was a HUGE learning experience.
• Entry share price: 0.18
• Exit share price: 0.35
• Catalyst for growth: Speculating on at home COVID test kit.
• Outcome: Well, I think everyone knows how this went. The stock spiked to 0.48 on Apr 23 before falling off a cliff. Trading was halted, and stabilized at 0.35 before crashing again. Then by the end of the day, the SEC showed up and halted all trading on DECN because of potential fraud with their COVID test kit announcement. I think DECN was a trial by fire for many newcomers to this sub. I was one of the lucky few that got out early and was in pennystocks as just a casino style gambling machine, not as long term value proposition. DECN is now trading at 0.02, and i would stay as far away from it as possible.
• Lesson Learned: Buy the rumour, sell the news! I think this was my first harsh introduction to OTC markets, the speed of pump and dumps, and the threat of bag holding. I'm really glad I was able to exit on the right side of this, but it made me incredibly weary of all future OTC buys, learning my lesson that the vast majority of pennystocks are garbage.

• Ticker: MVIS
• When did you buy in: May 5
• Why did you buy in: I was trying to replicate my DECN success but this time I was chasing a pump prior to earnings call on a rumour that MVIS was going to be acquired by MSFT.
• Entry share price: 1.50
• Exit share price: 0.75
• Catalyst for growth: Buy out by MSFT by some internet stranger here on /pennystocks
• Outcome: Well, I got out very early, essentially one day after I bought because the news on the earnings report was so uninspiring that I thought the stock was dead. Well, we all know what happened afterwards!
• Lesson learned: This one is funny, because it taught me about when to bag hold and when to not bag hold. But this is the tricky part. On May 8, after the earnings report, MVIS fell from 1.50 to 0.60 before recovering and stabilizing to 0.90. This taught me the big threat of "weak hands" as well as pennystock price volatility. I saw my initial investment lose 65% of value within minutes, and it scared me to sell off. If I just had been more convicted on the company, I would have broken even within 4 weeks, and actually doubled my initial investment within 8 weeks. This taught me a big thing about buying rumour and selling news, but also more importantly about a company with a real product. MVIS was actually making hardware for advanced computer vision, and sure they were in hard shape, but they actually had a product that was bringing in revenue. They weren't an OTC, and seemed legit. Obviously, hindsight is 20/20, but this taught me two big things: 1. Don't chase a pumping stock prior to earnings. If you are, set stop losses and less right before the earnings report. 2. Decide whether you're swing trading for a quick gain or investing for longer term. The two are incompatible in my opinion, because with swing trading you'll set aggressive stop losses and be happy with gains vs time. Investing is much more about maximizing the percentage gain on a holding with conviction.

• Ticker: TLSS
• When did you buy in: May 11
• Why did you buy in: Posts on this sub about debt consolidation and a new CEO that turned around Coach USA from a $100M company to a $1B company.
• Entry share price: 0.02
• Exit share price: 0.08
• Catalyst for growth: Pure speculation and pump.
• Outcome: Wow, this was a ride. This was the first time I remember opening up my account and seeing a 10x return. TLSS had hit 0.20 on the morning of May 27 and it had stabilized there for 3 days! I didn't sell because I thought this was the start of something big. Ya...it was the start of a big mistake! TLSS cratered after that, falling all the way down to 0.05 and then slowly bleeding out over the next 5 months.
• Lesson learned: When you see a 10x return on an OTC pennystock, be wary of why the stock went up. If it doesn't have good legs behind why the stock is all of a sudden worth 10x its valuation, then take your profits and run!

• Ticker: SPI
• When did you buy in: May 26
• Why did you buy in: I saw some random pump on stocktwits about this stock and it looked stable with a floor.
• Entry share price: 0.75
• Exit share price: 0.96
• Catalyst for growth: No catalyst, was just using random internet stranger advice.
• Outcome: I was initially happy with my 30% gains!
• Lesson learned: Well, SPI is trading at $8 right now after they announced they're buying Phoenix Motor Cars. But back in May, when bought SPI, they looked like a super shady shell company. Their website looked like it was made in 2012. It had information about solar panels and weed growing ops. They were head quartered out of Hong Kong. They put out almost no news. This didn't seem like a legit company, but I thought I could flip them for a quick 20% gain with minimal time and effort. If I had known they were a more compelling operation, I would have held long term. I don't think there's a lesson here. SPI was a lottery ticket, and I think people who were holding got lucky.

• Ticker: OZSC
• When did you buy in: May 28
• Why did you buy in: There were good posts on this sub about a potential merger, increased revenue streams, a big government contract and good new management.
• Entry share price: 0.025
• Exit share price: 0.0405
• Catalyst for growth: Speculation on some potential government deals.
• Outcome: I went in thinking this is a pump and dump, and I had learned my lesson after DECN. As a result, I was getting out with 100% gains and not looking back. I think anyone who is still holding OZSC knows that this was a lot of smoke and mirrors. People tried to chase this and got burned.
• Lesson learned: When it comes to buying OTC, always be incredibly wary. For every ALPP, there are hundreds of OZSC and DECN.

• Ticker: XSPA
• When did you buy in: June 9
• Why did you buy in: There was so much hyper and momentum on this sub about how XSPA was going to open up in New Jersey airport, then every other airport. And that they were set up to take over the entire COVID testing apparatus!
• Entry share price: 2.1
• Exit share price: 2.7....but after a 3-for-1 reverse split...so actually 0.9
• Catalyst for growth: Rumours of XSPA being the
• Outcome: Well, this is the biggest turd of all my investments. So many people were able to play XSPA back in early June for huge gains. I thought I could ride the lightning on a second wave of good luck! But this thing was stupid, and I ended up costing me dearly.
• Lesson learned: Don't believe the hype on stocks that are too good to be true. Think about macro factors. XSPA slowly bled out, and I got out after realizing that there was no hope for recovery. I sold at a 50% loss and redeployed my remaining funds to recover my losses. I hate this stock and everything it stands for.

• Ticker: IDEX
• When did you buy in: Jun 10
• Why did you buy in: Lots of rumours of them releasing an electric car fleet in China! Also, claims that people had personal conversations with the CEO Alf Poor and how he was the real deal! But mostly because IDEX had found an amazing price floor at 1.10 and had been trading sideways for weeks on end at that price. I know people in this sub were incredibly wary of a stock that was manipulated so perfectly, to always trade within 2% of its price floor, but I saw it more as a way to ensure a floor.
• Entry share price: 1.11
• Exit share price: 1.60
• Catalyst for growth: IDEX blew up based on pictures they released of a potential show floor for their electric car environment in China.
• Outcome: Well, I think after DECN and maybe GNUS, IDEX may have the most bag holders of any stock in this sub.
• Lesson learned: Be wary of any stocks dealing with business in China. I remember watching IDEX go up to 3.20 and I regretted selling so soon! I wish I had just held and squeezed more out of that stock. But then I watched IDEX crap itself down the toilet over the next 3 days, falling all the way back down to 0.92 based on the Citron release that indicated that IDEX was a sham company.

• Ticker: CLIS
• When did you buy in: Jun 18
• Why did you buy in: The launch of their app was supposed to revolution online gambling and with DKNG and PENN pumping, they could see some real sympathy. Also, their stock pumped to 0.20 just based on hype of their app. Imagine the share price when the app actually releases!
• Entry share price: 0.24, then DCA'd down to 0.07
• Exit share price: 0.02
• Catalyst for growth: The release of their app
• Outcome: Well, their app sucked and their stock sucks.
• Lesson learned: Do not chase pumps. This stock is by single biggest loser, as I ended up losing about 80% on this turd. The lucky part is that I didn't go in hard, as I didn't fundamentally believe in the product. But its still a big shot to the ego getting wrapped up in the hype. I hate CLIS, and this stock has made me incredibly wary of OTC. I think CLIS (and OZSC) is a big reason why I was so hesitant of following ALPP despite all the hype and good news.

• Ticker: CLSK
• When did you buy in: June 26
• Why did you buy in: Rumours of a Walmart partnership and a potential revenue windfall.
• Entry share price: 2.28
• Exit share price: 3.10
• Catalyst for growth: There were rumours that CLSK's microgrid controller was going to be used at every Walmart ever. There were faux emails floating around on this sub from someone who claims they spoke to CLSK IR and got the inside scoop, but this was followed up with other members of this sub emailing CLSK IR to verify and CLSK ended up denying the rumours. The stock pumped to 3.50 before falling back down, stabilizing then going on a huge 10x rally over the next 4 months.
• Outcome: CLSK is currently trading at $29 on the strength of their expanded product portfolio and great PR. They have lots of international customers that are using their microgrid controller, and they recently used their share offering to purchase a bitcoin mining operation that is helping them generate an additional $7M a year in revenue.
• Lesson learned: When you find a company that has a legitimate product, with real leadership, have some conviction and hold the stock for more than just a 20% flip. I could have been up 10x but instead I settled for a quick 40% flip because I was scared of bag holding.

The thing is, you can actually get on top of the mountain whenever you want, without having to initialise the GATE or even have the GATE present. • Edda's Ghost: Edda is a character in the Tam-tara Deepcroft Hard questline. The story is tragic and gruesome. The myth is that some players claimed that they saw Edda's ghost without completing the Tam-tara Hard questline. Edda also appears in Palace of The Dead as a boss once you reach a certain floor.

• Comfort Misery: The debuff status "Misery" can actually be cleansed using /comfort on the affected target. It first appeared in the LV50 dungeon The Lost City of Amdapor. There are gremlin mobs in said dungeon that cast "Foul Mouth" it will apply a "Misery" debuff on you. It cannot be cleansed with Esuna, but it can be cleansed with /comfort. This is a known feature. It DOES NOT work on yourselves though, it has to be from another player so if you wanna test it make sure to have at least 2 people.
  
• Retainers in Overworld: Retainers can actually be seen in the overworld, gathering resources. Like Edda, they also have a chance of appearing. They appear as untargettable NPCs, like the other untargettable NPCs you can see in many other places. This is a known feature.
  
• GM Jail: It is a place where you get pulled in by a GM. Apparently it is actually not instanced, and most of your actions are disabled, including teleport and return. The only thing that appears on your screen is the chatbox. This effectively serves as an in-game jail, where players who committed misconducts are pulled in there and get a warning/a strike/a temporary ban/a perma ban from a GM. When you are released, you will not be released to where you got pulled from, you will be released to the aetheryte that you set as your return point (so probably Limsa).
  
• Crystarium 2005 Tech Demo: The original video itself is from 2005, but this video from 2007 pretty much sums it up https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgtZvn5c4e4 It is a Tech Demo from two thousand and five, fifteen years ago that depicts a city with a striking resemblance to the Crystarium.

• Yugiri is a Miqo'te: Yugiri is an Auri character in the MSQ, she first appeared in 2.4, that is before the release of Heavensward. Throughout all of her ARR appearance, she was always seen wearing a mask that covered her entire head except for her eyes. We were only able to see her actual face with the release of 2.5. Masked Yugiri is indeed a cat, having the Miqo'te model. • Back masking in Tam-tara Hard theme: Backmasking is a recording technique in which a sound or message is recorded backward onto a track that is meant to be played forward. Backmasking is a deliberate process, whereas a message found through phonetic reversal may be unintentional. This is probably related to Edda and her creepy questline.
  
• Housing Void: There is a glitch in FFXIV where you can go out of bound in a house. With a certain specific set up, consisting of Troupe Stages and certain beds, you can see what it's like "outside" of a house. It's a square box with non-smooth texture within a completely dark background, if you fall into it you'll fall forever.
  
• Meol is just bread: Meol is the food given by Vauthry to the poor people living in Kholusia. It is actually made of sin eaters, so if one eats that, one to an extent "is" a sin eater. Vauthry has the ability to control sin eaters, that's why he does that. This is probably a meme related to this, in line with the saying "x did nothing wrong".

• Dun Scaith Ultima: The 24 man raid Dun Scaith, when first released, had a completely different third boss, the Succubus. After a certain FanFest (I forgot which FanFest) where players who attended got to do a fight with the Proto Ultima, they decided to change Dun Scaith's third boss to Proto Ultima. There is actually still a way for you to fight the original third boss, the Succubus, whereas ALL 24 players in that instance must not have accepted the Proto Ultima questline. As long as ONE of the 24 players in Dun Scaith has accepted the Proto Ultima questline, you will get Proto Ultima as the third boss.
  
• 0:00 Titan clear: Titan is one of the more notorious primals in FFXIV. This is probably a meme referring to a bug/glitch that would give you an instant win over one of the Titan fights.
  
• King Moogle self-kill: Thornmarch and Thornmarch EX, are primal fights released in 2.2, so like... 6 years ago. In the Extreme version you would fight King Moogle and his 8 lackeys. Unlike most other fights, this one does not have a hard enrage. You are supposed to reduce the lackeys' HP to very low, but not zero, then kill one, the king would then refill all of the lackeys' HP to full at the cost of his own HP. You can only do this twice before the "enrage". Basically you damage the main boss by damaging the adds. If you just kill one lackey for example, the main boss would only lose a little of his HP, compared to a big chunk if you have all 8 at very low HP then kill one. After the second time of doing that, King Moogle will cast his Enrage, dealing a fix amount of... 30000 damage. The cast is super long, like 15-20 seconds. In 2.2, that is more than enough to kill everyone. But in 5.2 where everyone has 120k HP and the tanks have like 170k HP, if you do this fight unsync, no one would do it the legit way. They would just quickly kill 2 lackeys, then the main boss because unlike other hard enrages where it just outright kills you regardless of how much HP you have, this fight's enrage is fixed at... 30k damage per cast. Non healers can survive 5-8 casts, healer can survive infinite casts, so there is no point of doing this the correct way when unsync.
  
• Urth's Fount (Extreme): This is a primal fight release in 2.5, where you fight Odin. This fight does not actually have an Extreme version, only a normal version. This is one of the few primal fights to not have an Extreme version. Urth's Fount Extreme is probably a meme related to this.
  
• Koji Fox Vocals: Koji Fox is the lead of the English localisation team for FFXIV. He is famous for the plethora of pop culture references within the game, and also a lot of sexual innuendos. He is also a member of the FFXIV band along with Soken and other members, where he actually is the lead vocal. Some of the in-game OSTs are actually Koji's singing, namely "Locus" (Seeking the peace of reason, Sheep in a peaceless season...)
  
• Warrior of Light is a primal: This is theorised long before, where... we the WOL, is a primal.
  
• Y'shtola aethersight is killing her: After using her kaboom ultimate to escape in the conclusion of 2.5, she got lost in the Lifestream and became blind. She is now "seeing" with aethersight instead of her eyes, and it is theorised that if she keeps on doing this she will die.

• Zenos died in Ala Mhigo: Zeno died in the conclusion of 4.0 after we fought him, he then body hopped to a resistance soldier then later body hopped back to his actual body, thanks to the artificial echo. This is a meme related to that.
  
• Crowd Noise Lalafell: If you go to a crowded city and turn off all the sound excepts for the "Ambient Sound", you will hear a lot of chatters with occasion laughter and shouting. The lalafell noise definitely replays over and over along with the "UGHHH" sound right after. This is automatic and is part of the game even if no players are actually emoting. It's specifically Lalafell /happy voice 1.

• Nanamo really died: Nanamo got "poisoned" in 2.5, we all thought she died back then but it turned out that she is still alive. It might be theorised that the current Nanamo we see is not real and the actual Nanamo actually died. This one is in the same line as the Zenos one. This one probably might just be a meme.
  
• Miqo'te hidden human ear: Miqo'te have cat ears on top of their head instead of on the side. Probably just a meme.

• Totorak Hard mode theme: Many of the old dungeons get a Hard mode version in later patches. Totorak is considered by many players to be long and tedious, especially if you get it in a leveling roulette. There is no Totorak Hard dungeon in the game, so this is probably a meme related to that.
  
• Fattest Cat: Fat Cat is a minion. Fatter Cat is a mount. "Fattest Cat" is an easter egg found in the second boss of the LV70 dungeon "The Drowned City of Skalla", released in 4.1. You can see it here https://youtu.be/d6bUC9_Vy6M?t=132 This is actually an old FFXIV standard of naming skills, and some of it are still present to this day (Straight Shot -> Straighter Shot for example). Fattest Cat is probably a meme referring to that.
  
• Midgardsormr blood in Mor Dhona: It is said that the blood of said dragon can be seen in Mor Dhona, but I think this is probably just a meme.
  
• West Shroud: La Noscea has both Western La Noscea nad Eastern La Noscea, Thanalan has both Western Thanalan and Eastern Thanalan. The Black Shroud used to have both West Shroud and East Shroud in 1.x, West Shroud got removed in 2.0. Many players want the zone back.
  
• A8S Temporal Loop: In A8S (The raid "The Burden of the Son" released in 3.2) if you ignore the mechanics for the 4 robots, it’s normally a party wipe. If you do it unsync, the wipe is actually possible to survive, but it’ll reset the fight to the beginning by respawning the first enemy robot if it detects any surviving players. The 3.x raid series/The Alexandre raid series also featured some time traveling elements, most notably in A12/A12S, where there is a mechanic that makes us go back in time to save ourselves in A11/A11S. The fights A11/A11S themselves have some foreshadowing to this too. This is probably a meme related to that.
  
• Thancred still possessed: Thancred was possessed by Lahabrea back in ARR. He is now not possessed anymore so this is probably a meme saying that he is still possessed.
  
• Lyhe Ghiah Door pattern: When doing treasure maps, sometimes you come across a portal that leads you to an instanced "dungeon". Within this place after you clear each floor you will get rewarded with gil and items, and the further you go, the more gil and the more valued items you would get, up to the very last floor. However between each floor you must choose between 2 to 3 doors. Choose right and you proceed to the next floor, choose wrong and you get booted out. The door choosing doesn't actually matter, it's just there for show, you have a set probability of success/failure regardless of which door you've chosen. Some people claimed that they can get the "correct" door every time by examining the patterns on the doors.
  
• Estinien bathing scene: Apparently Estinien was wearing his blood-covered armour for like half of Heavensward, meaning he didn't take a bath for that much time periods. This is probably a meme related to that.

• Triple Triad empty card: A glitch occurred in a Triple Triad game in which you have an empty card. There was actually a thread and a video about this glitch, but I cannot find it right now. I will update this post when I find it.

• Dialectics of the Baldesion Arsenal: Baldesion Arsenal or simply BA, is a 54-man dungeon released in 4.55 with the latest installment of Eureka, Hydatos. Eureka itself is kinda like a totally different world compared to the rest of the game (both literally and metaphorically). When Eureka was in its prime, instances were often full, and if you zoned in a Eureka instance you would find things on /shout chat like: "Is Louhi up?", "LFG NM prep", "lfg train", "Please rez at (x;y)". BA probably has the same kind of abbreviations referring to strategies, probably even more obscure that led to the birth of this meme.
  
• Stone Sea Sky Numerology: Stone Sea Sky or simply SSS is a featured first released in 3.0, which "mimics" certain fights (often Extreme Primal and High-End Savage Raids), in the form of a dummy with a set amount of HP. This amount changes depending on which job you are. It is supposed to be a personal DPS check to see whether you have the DPS to clear the encounter, it might or might not be accurate. This is a meme related to that.
  
• Thancred Infertile: Probably a meme related to Thancred's inability of having children.
  
• UCOB strat found in Voynich Manuscripts: UCOB or Ultimate Coil of Bahamut, is an ultimate raid with extremely high difficulty that requires great skill and great coordination among all 8 players. • Black Parse: Parsing is the act of using ACT (heh) or Advanced Combat Tracker, a 3rd party tool to calculate one's DPS. A parse can also be called a "log", and said log can be uploaded to a website called "FFlogs", which ranks players based on those logs. Each fight and job has their own percentile of DPS, and each percentile tier has a colour associated with it, with 0-25 being grey, 26-49 being green, 50-74 being blue, 75-94 being purple, 95-99 being orange and 100 being gold, hence terms like "Grey parse", "Orange parse". There is no percentile that has the colour black, so this is a meme related to that.
  
• Lord of Verminion Tournament: Lord of Verminion is a mini game added way back in 3.1, you can go to the Gold Saucer upper floor and play with another player. It's basically a MOBA where you control your minions to defeat your opponent's. The game is actually quite fun, I enjoy it from time to time, but there are not many people playing it. There is also a bi-weekly tournament of this game, but the number of participants can be so low that you might see the same names on the leaderboard every time.
  
• PoTD RNG sampling uses number stations: PoTD or Palace of the Dead is a rogue-like randomised dungeon where you must kill monsters on a floor to proceed to the next floor. The layout of each floor is completely random. A numbers station is a shortwave radio station characterized by broadcasts of formatted numbers, which are believed to be addressed to intelligence officers operating in foreign countries. An obvious meme.
  
• Roulette Synchronicity: If you queue for a Duty Roulette, you cannot get a dungeon that has the ilevel surpassing your current ilevel. Many players abused this to get the dungeons they desire, preferably a quick and easy one.
  
• Guildhest parallel universe: Guildhests are... instanced duties like other instanced duties in the game, but less prominent. Some are actually required to progress with the MSQ, but there were no new Guildhests since 2.0. Probably a meme related to that.
  
• Simultaneous Aurum Vale: Aurum Vale is a LV47 dungeon and is notorious because of the jump in difficulty compared to many preceding dungeons. Players suddenly kinda have to know what they are doing and play at least moderately decently, and a small mistake can easily lead to a wipe. Many players express grudge against this particular dungeon. This is probably a meme related to that.

Edit 2: I was able to clarify a few terms and make some adjustments thanks to the people commenting below.

A few months ago I had my teaching account kicked from Skillshare for vague reasons. I tried to figure out what I had done wrong, and the best I can come up with were that may classes were too short - 15 to 20 minutes long in total. (Skillshare’s guidelines say classes must be 10 minutes minimum). Recently I was thinking about it, and how pointless that was, and what a waste of time Skillshare was for me (as a teacher), and it got me thinking, what if skillshare isn’t a real teaching platform?
What if it is just a criminal enterprise? Ponzi scheme? Maybe. Criminal enterprise is more likely. Because, aside from taking 70%+ of the teacher pool money, - yes you read that right, a whopping 70% of what teacher’s earn for the company, above and beyond the company’s costs of running is taken from teachers they host (and later kick without paying them) - but it behaves just like a mob run company, in every way possible, like an out of control, mob-run, Atlantic City Casino, kicking accounts for simply posting something they don’t like on the back of vague, ever-changing rules, that are not posted online, intentionally hard to follow, constantly “in the process of updating”, and never clarified to teachers in breach of said new rules & icing on the cake is that these rules justify the company seizing all of the earnings from teachers in the process.
If Skillshare was a legitimate business you would think they would talk to teachers about the course duration they don’t like or what have you but they just reject teacher accounts outright, even if you have paid for annual membership as I had. And you lose whatever you paid for subscription in addition to revenues for that month - meaning they take 100% - not 70% - of your earnings as a teacher.
This feels a lot like a Russian scam or something. I didn’t even think of this because it seemed like a legit teaching site at first glace. Add to that how there are even lots of reports on here of them continuing to charge the full subscription fee past the agreed upon end date on reddit.
Could I be on to something?? I feel like there could be something sinister to the madness of Skillshare’s policies? Is this just a criminal enterprise robbing teachers & students under flimsy pretenses & stealing your credit card details in the process?

Okay so I logged onto GTA Online for the first time in agessss (college has been a transition) and noticed the time of day was changing. No problem I thought, modders do this but the worst they’ve done is put me in a cage, not worth spending a few more years in loading screens to find a new session. I went to the casino when I noticed a bag of money on the floor. I picked this up, and I swear to you, the top right of my screen said + 1,000,000,000 and then + 500,000,000. I freaked out cause all I saw was a blur of huge numbers and left online. Then I quit the game. I was shook, and decided to go back into the game to see if it was a glitch (I left in the middle of transaction pending hoping it wouldn’t save). To my horror, I now has 1.5 B in my account after playing legit all summer with my friends. I logged out again but now I’m horrified— will rockstar see this random HUGE money addition and ban me? They say all bans are finals and no appeals... but I legit didn’t do this. Im so scared I’ll wake up to the ban email tomorrow morning and sure it’ll be 30 days but I’ll get my hard work on this character wiped.

Hey, I am EGS free user, and since then i won every single car after Half-track. (I am russian, so apologies for stupid choosing of words)(and this thread is me reposting my post from other thread)
TL;DR THERE IS NO CONCRETE METHOD, BUT THERE IS A PATTERN
I will brake down some of my observations and ways I used to deal with Lucky Wheel.

1. There are TWO legit methods to time your rolls. Make sure your wheel spin 2 or 1 (but not full) circles
2. Basic timings are 2-3 sec (2 circles) or 4 (1 circle)
3. Each reset, when the new podium car is added - wheel timings are going to be slightly moved but not that drasticly.
4. You can use either stopwatch on your phone OR use macros software you can trust. I personaly happens to have a Razer keyboard so their Synapse have built-in macros stuff

The macro that I use is basicly on (any button you want) that will trigger S button after X seconds and holding S button for 0.3sec. Thats it.

Now to the procedure.

1. Open game in windowed mode that left enough space for task manager. Go find GTAV.exe and click "End Process Tree" but dont confirm it. Leave or move little message to convinient place for later Alt+Tab. IF YOU KNOW ANOTHER METHOD - FEEL FREE TO USE IT.
   1. Or you can kill your internet connection through Control Panel -> Network -> Internet\Network Connections
2. Make sure you set your spawn place as close as possible to casino (previous location, penthouse, whatever)
3. Enter casino and check position of the Wheel. It HAVE TO BE on clothing that two steps right from podium car.
4. Assuming you have your macro ready - you have to enter a stage and be on phase that tells you Press S (or L if on gamepad). THE SPLITSECOND THIS MESSEGE POPS you need to press your macro and nothing else and wait 'till your spin goes off.
5. When your macro did its stuff go and Alt+Tab to Task Manager's End Process message. Your goal is to end process BEFORE your wheel stops. And if its not landing on podium car then - end it.
   1. Or if you killing internet connection - just kill it. That will set you off from online but you dont need to restart whole game again
6. Repeat 1-5

Now to some minor details.

• The longer you wait - the slower wheel spins
• The longer you hold S button - the faster wheel spins

This is where all bounces will come in light. I used to win 3/4 cars using 4 seconds method, and 1/4 using 2.5 seconds method. The thing is that every reset there is new timings and you need to try it. And on top of all there is margin of error. And that is YOU. If you press macro button too early or late - you will offset your results. If your hands are fast enough and whole scene is done right - you can track your timings on where it needs to be +0.2sec or -0.1 sec, depending on where your wheel GOING to stop. And even if pattern is not correct for you - just try and increase or decrease macro time. That helped me with Torero.
FOR GAMEPAD USERS. I saw some stuff about rotating from 9 to 6 o'clock, but there is another timing ontop of existing 2. So I threw this idea after 2 hours of testing. BUT the thing is you dont need to rotate. You just need to swing it down and quick, because of longer hold - faster spin. This is equivalent to pressing S.
My history of timings and rolls

• Half-track - 3.8 or 3.9 (I really dont remember)
• Issy - somewhere in 2.6, because i used this very thread to try
• SC1 - exactly 4.1
• Torero - 3.9-4.0 (a margin of error here)
• (added 18.06) R88 - 4.1 first try
• (added 26.06) Scramjet - 3.7 HOLY FUCK THIS WAS ANNOYING TO DO, they totally got me triggered this week with so much inconsistency
• (added 09.07) Sovereign - skipped for 60k
• (added 09.07) Vagner - 3.8 and I discovered that my results are different if I'm in singleplayer session (not solo), so that mean that 3.8 is my timing in regular open session
• (added 16.07) Komoda - 3.7 first try

I saw this supposedly leaked map from GTA VI with those two islands and while I don't believe this is legit at all, I was curious how "leaked" maps for GTA V looked like.
And I found this. Yeah, this is absolutely some kind of joke right? But... this was "leaked" in 2011, two years before release and I can't wrap my head around the fact that this map was not so different from what we've got. I mean this map have more in common with actual GTA V map, then Los Santos map from San Andreas. How is that possible?
So this is the WTF part in which even I can't believe, but it's interesting: what if this is an early concept of GTA V map based on Los Santos map from San Andreas, but so early it even uses San Andreas map graphic style. More like a concept, which then evolved to actual map. I know this sounds crazy, but still possible.
If all above is true, then what about that small island in bottom left part? Maybe Rockstar planned to add it in the final version, but they cut that (we don't know when, could be even in 2012) to save maybe for future DLC... for example, that final GTA Online update which will contain some kind of map expansion. It was proven before that, what was cut from final game, ended up in DLCs (casinos, dancing, clubs managing).

Buckle up.. this is gonna be long.
TLDR : stop being dumb and follow casino protocols in private and semi public poker games because personal responsibility means not harming others.
Poker players are, for the most part, live and let live people. We all know that we're there to take each other's money or gamble and anything else is bad for business and most of us act accordingly with a certain degree of respect. Money is how we keep score and not much else matters.
Poker is a high risk activity for covid. We all know it.. all of us that play accept the risk and should be able to because personal responsibility is a thing. However, every good libertarian will tell you that personal responsibility only goes as far as the do no harm rule which means that one person's actions cannot harm another person's freedom of action.
Casinos don't give a damn about people.. but they are excellent at limiting risk and liability. As long as private or semi public games continue to not require full and proper mask usage and sanitization protocol then game runners and players are intentionally putting each other at a much higher degree of risk than is necessary. Casinos have shown us a blue print on how to do this as safely as possible and there is absolutely no reason not to do it.
I'm just as guilty as anybody. I play over 20 hours a week of live poker in the middle of a pandemic. supplemented with online play, this is how I pay my mortgage and bills. When somebody came into the game and didn't wanna wear a mask I chuckled and shrugged while making note of the person's likely high risk tolerance and possible willingness to put their money in a bad spot and went to work on taking the person's money. Until one of those people was in denial about having covid and proceeded to give it to half the table whether they were masked or not because they rambled and spewed into the air for hours and then you took a drink or your mask was a little loose in the nose and you breath in and you're screwed because you're in the same space for 7 hours.
It's shitty to not say anything until after you're burned and I own that.. but shittier to never say anything at all. Because at the end of the day that person's personal decision harmed the personal decisions of the rest of us and put our health at risk unnecessarily, a clear violation of the do no harm principle and we enabled and allowed that. We all accept the risk.. but it is wrong for 1 or 2 to force a higher degree of risk on the rest than they want to accept. The tyranny of the minority should not hold sway. Game runners and all players need to be real about what that means instead of fooling themselves about it either out of ignorance, laziness, fear of confrontation, or a twisted self interest.
If everybody decides to not have any rules then cool do what you want but if you have a mixed group I can personally attest that that simply does not work and you're either lying to yourself or you're lying to your players or both. We had a legit outbreak in our game to prove it. Outbreaks are bad for business. The casinos know this, why don't we? The free market will decide what continues and what doesn't but I'm personally calling on all poker players to demand better and be better for the community and for yourself as well as those you interact with and love or care about.
Be better by using the power of game selection and demanding better of your game runners and fellow players. I firmly plan on doing so on principle despite my soon to be acquired covid immunity because healthy players are good for business and covid outbreaks are bad for business. I feel it's important to lead by example and not ask something of others that you aren't willing to do yourself.
Will outbreaks still happen even if correct protocols are followed? More than likely yes.. but poker like life is all about risk management and mitigation and if it gets it to happen less often for little effort it's worth doing.
